How to get to Herceg Novi Igalo in Montenegro ?

The two international airports in Montenegro – Podgorica and Tivat – meet basic aviation requirements and have reserve runway and landing strip capacity.

From a tourism point of view, though, there are considerable shortcomings at the terminals. They are in need of basic modernization and extension to cope with demand.

ARRIVING TO HERCEG NOVI BY PLANE - AIR TRAFFIC through international airlines.

Two international airports are very close to Herceg Novi. Tivat Airport (23 km away) and Ćilipi Airport, near Dubrovnik in Croatia (30 km away) and connecting Herceg Novi with domestic and international tourist destinations.

In certain occasions, the Podgorica airport might be utilized as well (112 km away from Herceg Novi).

Montenegro is an air destination with very frequent charter flights during the tourist season.

The airline companies “Montenegro Airlines” and “JAT” manage scheduled flights, while a couple of other companies organize flight to Podgorica, Tivat and Dubrovnik during the tourist season from May to the end of October.

You can also get to Montenegro to Bar or Dubrovnik by ferryboats from Bari (Italy) or from Rijeka and Split (Croatia's biggest ports at the Adria).

During summer time several agencies in Dubrovnik offering transfers by boat to the Herceg Novi Port in Montenegro. The prices are between 15.00 to 30 Euros depending on boat size and services.

The Ferries Jadrolinija is connecting Rijeka, Split, Dubrovnik and many other places in between, and offer an excellent opportunity to enjoy a beautiful trip and having a unforgetable view to thousands of small islands.


 

BY BUS 

 

The bus connection from Dubrovnik, Podgorica and Tivat Airport are professional and safe. Most international buses departing from Belgrade, Vienna, Frankfurt, Rijeka, Dubrovnik or Split.
