The City of Painters and Poets 

Its not a secret that the City Herceg Novi is a famous residence of the intellectual and art elite of Serbia and Montenegro. Even many writers, poets and painters from all over the world living and working in Herceg Novi during the winter, spring, summer and the autumn season.

This colored town with it´s thousands of palm trees, rose gardens, exotic flowers and plants inspires artist especially during the blue hour every day again.

Art Gallery Spinnaker Herceg Novi

Art-Gallery “Spinnaker” was founded 1995. During this period of time, the Gallery has been organized more than fifty exhibitions with renowned artists from south-east Europe. 

Gallery “Spinnaker” is one of the most respectable  during the last ten years in whole Montenegro.

In the Council of  the  Gallery  are: Nada Marović – Stanić, Ljubica Nedić-Mračević, Bogdan Musović, Vojo Stanić, Lazar Seferović i Dragan Mračević.

Art Music Festival 

July 2008:

Enjoying the international festival of "Art Music" is a famous annual Summer Music Festival in 2008.

Organized by JUK Herceg Fest.

Herceg Novi Film Festival:

Since 1998, every year, early in August, a Film Festival has been organized in the Kanli tower in Herceg Novi.

It has a competition character, and it gathers many domestic filmmakers.

Almost all segments of film production are assessed, and a five-member jury awards the most successful ones festival Grand Prix, as well as golden, silver and bronze "Mimosas".

Except for nominations and presentation of domestic films made between two festivals, numerous shows and discussions on the film production, as well as on other topics related to this subject, are also organized.

The organizer of the Film Festival is JUK Herceg Novi, supported by the Ministry for Culture of the Republic of Montenegro and the Assembly of Herceg Novi Municipality.

Herceg Novi Book Fair

The" International Book Fair", takes place in the ancient "town of writers" Herceg Novi.

One of he biggest outdoors bookstore in South Europe opens from the end of July until the first week of August 2008. Visitors have an unique opportunity to see and buy the latest belletristic and reference books.

Apart from other prizes, the Fair also awards the prestige prize "The Golden Palm" for the best editorial project of the year.

The book fair is organized bythe Herceg Novi Municipality, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Montenegro, the Association of Writers of Montenegro and the Institute of Igalo.
